Komodo Kayak Safari Itinerary

Day 1 - Mangrove Kayaking & Caves Exploration

We start with pickup from your hotel or the airport in Labuan Bajo. After a short welcome and briefing at the Komodo Kayaking office, we will hop on 4×4 jeep, following the coast toward quiet mangrove areas.

Before launching, your guide explains basic kayaking skills and safety. We focus on comfort, sun protection, and hydration. Then we paddle through calm mangrove channels and shallow coastal inlets. Limestone cliffs reflect the heat, while shaded areas stay noticeably cooler.

After kayaking, we secure the boats and walk to Rangko Cave. Inside the cave, you can swim in the clear blue-green pool. The air feels cooler, and the space echoes with every sound.

Later in the afternoon, we visit Batu Cermin, also known as Mirror Rock Cave. A short walk introduces the cave’s unique light reflections and opens to views over Labuan Bajo Bay. We end the day at a sunset viewpoint above Labuan Bajo, before returning to town for dinner and a relaxed briefing for the next day.

Day 2 - Village Visit & Cultural Immmersion

Today we travel inland by 4×4 jeep. The route follows paved roads and village tracks. Along the way, your guide explains the landscape and why jeeps are essential in this region.

On arrival, local hosts welcome you into their village. You walk through home gardens and traditional kitchens. Then you sit, talk, and share coffee under bamboo or timber verandas. The visit feels informal and unforced.

Lunch follows in a local style communal kitchen. Food is cooked over wood fire using local ingredients. After lunch, you may join a short walk to nearby fields or viewpoints. However, walking remains optional and flexible.

Before leaving, we explain how trip revenue supports host families and village partners. We also share how Komodo Kayaking reviews these partnerships each year. Afterward, we return to Labuan Bajo. The rest of the day is free to rest or explore town.

Day 3 - Dragons, Snorkeling & Iconic Islands

We start early with pickup and transfer to the harbour. From there, we board a fast boat with your Komodo Kayaking guide. Park permits and ranger arrangements are already prepared.

First, we land on Komodo Island or Rinca Island. The choice depends on tides and crowd levels. A licensed ranger leads the walk. During the trek, you may see Komodo dragons, deer, and wild pigs. Safety rules are clear and followed at all times.

After the walk, we continue exploring the park by speedboat. We stop for snorkeling in selected reefs and calm bays. Sites change based on sea conditions and visitor numbers. These stops may include Padar viewpoints, Pink Beach, or other quiet locations. Wildlife sightings remain unpredictable and never guaranteed.

Finally, we return to Labuan Bajo in the late afternoon. Transfers to hotels or the airport follow. We close the trip with a short debrief and farewell.
